Bringing back your old compilation tapes, one Spotify playlist at a time

I use Spotify as my main music consumption software, iTunes was religated a long time ago, and although it heralds the widespread adoption of cloud based services for the general public, there’s only one problem: you still need to tell it what to play.

While it has a ‘Radio’ tool, it’s pretty basic and ultimately not something you’d want to spend a lot of time with. So I decided to start putting some playlists together for people.

Of course the roll of the curator is even more important on a platform like Spotify, the vitrtually unlimited amount of music avalaible to users is pretty darn daunting. So I decided to start revisiting my old pop compilation tapes and put together playlists to bring them back from the dead.

I designed, and coded the site (my first foray into Tumblr theming) and will be putting out mixes with a little write up every week or two. So please visit, subscribe, follow, tweet and generally +1 the whole thing as you see fit.
