WalkBrighton App

Project:

The most beautiful looking walking App on the iPhone.

Design:

Date:

As part of the wider project to improve wayfinding in Brighton I lead the project to develop a brand new App for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Tailoring the maps that AIG developed for the street signs to suit the iPhone has an unprecedented level of beauty to mobile mapping.

The iPhone was a new platform to me when we started this project and so working with Crispin Lingford (our freelance iPhone developer) and Amy Wright (Project Manager) we quickly got to grips with the complex world of iPhone Development. Launched to coincide with the unveiling of the on street sign system the App has been very successful and has had over 4000 downloads off the back of PR surrounding the system.
The Brighton wayfinding scheme was recently shortlisted for a Design Week Award.
