Started back in 2007 the IMP was a bit of an experiment to get me to listen to more music, mainly by playing music to other people. It also served as a good way to understand the world of podcasting. I built the site from scratch and it went through several iterations in it’s lifetime, I also mixed the music and invited others to put mixes together.

I’ve been putting mixes together for ages and so this was a natural extension of that passion, in some respects the best points along the road were the guest mixes from other DJs so i’m delighted to have provided a platform for others.

After a prolonged hiatus between 2009 and 2011 the podcast has returned with a renewed impetus and a more focused approach. Built on the experience of the first incarnation the new site is more streamlined and built on a CMS to speed up the process.

The emphasis now is squarely on quality and the site exists across various social media platform and the whole experience in designed to bring great music to the people and get them buying music.
